Happy and In Love (tags: Gaston)

Odette was walking through the woods with Angus trailing behind her as she stared down at the ring on her finger. "I can't believe it....he actually proposed." She whispered and then twirled around giddily as a little laugh left her lips. She was feeling much better now and her wound was starting to heal so Odette had decided to take a walk in the woods.

Gaston had left Cindy alone at the palace when she was summoned to meet the prince and was trying to get his mind off of her. He was walking through the woods when he heard a giggle and rounded a large oak, seeing blondie twirling. She was probably considering him to be a stalker by now.

"What are you so giddy about?" Gaston asked cheerfully, leaning against a tree.

She froze when she recognized that voice and what Flynn had told her about him but nothing could dampen her good mood so she turned to him with a smile on her face. "Phoebus proposed." She said and held up her hand that held the ring on her finger.

Gaston whistled as he looked at the ring and smirked, "He must have paid a pretty penny for that," Gaston said.

(Must go see what flynn said...)

Odette nodded and looked down at the ring on her finger before she smiled again, "You're the first person I've told about this actually." She admitted with a blush.

"Hmmm, you shuld probably have chose more carefully, we met, what yesterday?" Gaston asked teasingly.

"Thats funny in a way, you just got a fiance and Cindy is meeting hers right now," Gaston said laughing, before trailing off and sighing, then forced out a smile.

Odette laughed, "Oh I know, but well I have to tell someone." She said with a small smile on her face. She looked down and then back up at him, "So she's meeting the prince? I've only met the queen but if he's anything like her then he'll make her happy." She said quietly.

"Hmmm," Gaston said, running his hands through his hair again.

"Thats relieving," Gaston said.

Odette smiled, "So what brings you out into the woods anyway?" She asked curiously, she herself was there to see if she could find a way to Flynn's hideout. A near impossible mission but she was determined to do it just so she could take her mind off of her currant problems.

Gaston thought for a moment, "I'm not sure, I just had a feeling that I should come take a walk," Gaston lied.

Odette nodded and then moved to stand next to Angus, "Its a beautiful day though isn't it?" She asked as she stroked Angus's mane with her fingertips.

"It is," he agreed smiling. He turned and looked behind him at the castle peaking through the trees. Gaston tried to push the thought of Cindy curtseying for some dumb prince in a collared shirt.

Odette glanced past him to see the castle and bit her lip, "So how do you like it here in Nirethia?" She asked

"Its nice, the company is exquisite," he said jokingly.

"I feel sad about why I'm here though," he said.

Odette frowned, "Why is that?" She asked with concern as she moved to stand near him.

"Well, Cindy's my best friend, we've been close since she was five and I eight..." Gaston explained.

"Its just weird that she being married off to some guy neither of us had ever met, if hes cruel to her...." Gaston said angrily, "I just don't know, shes amazing and deserves the best, which isnt an arranged marriage."

Odette looked down, "Sounds like you really care about her....she must be special." She said observantly as she thought about it.

"You would like her, both kindhearted blondes," he said jokingly.

Odette smiled, "I'm sure I would, she sounds like a great woman. So are you planning on staying here then?" She asked, she had a feeling he would keep an eye on the princess he obviously cared about.

"Sure, no reason to go back, I haven't got a girl or a job, just my lord father expecting me to find both," Gaston said irritably.

Odette frowned, "Well there's no rush, I'm sure there's a girl out there just for you." She said with a small smile as she tried to reassure him. She wasn't sure if she was doing a good job or not though.

"I know," he said, pushing Cindy out of his mind.

"I should probably be going," Gaston said, pushing himself off of the tree trunk.

"Congratulations, and save me a dance at the ball," Gaston requested, spinning around and walking away.

She nodded, "All right then." She said and watched him go, talking with him always made her wonder what was going on in his head.
