Unwanted Affection (tags Eric)

Eric only smiled and closed his eyes trying to sleep. However he was uneasy, and he opened his eyes so the frame of Odette sleeping could leave him calmer. Instead of seeing her sleeping, he saw her with open eyes, and he frowned, ''Don't you want to sleep anymore?, he whispered softly.

She sighed, "Uh yeah....I'm just thinking that's all." She said quietly and bit her lip before she closed her eyes. Sleep wouldn't come but she could close her eyes and pretend she was somewhere else.

Eric took a deep breath and closed his eyes after Odette closed hers. He moved closer, to feel her warmth better and then he moved his head as little at the pillow. As he moved, he could feel the smell from her hair, it smelled like lavender.
''You seem tensed'', he said softly, his eyes were still closed.

Odette bit her lip and forced herself to relax but it was difficult, "Sorry...habit." She said quietly with her own eyes closed, trying not to react as he moved himself closer against her.

''But you weren't so tensed before... Just think it's not me by your side, like before'', he whispered softly.

She made a little noise and then tried to think of someone else she would rather have be next to her. Her mind kept switching between three different men...none of whom was next to her. All three men ironically wanted nothing to do with her....was she really that bad? She couldn't help but wonder...her body slowly relaxed as she started to clear her mind.

Eric gulped, his eyes were closed, and slowly he got relaxed as her. After a while, when he imagined she was sleeping he whispered quietly. ''I'm sorry, Odette,''

She almost froze when she heard that...but she kept her body as relaxed as before. She wasn't exactly sure what to think...was he even being sincere? She wasn't sure....but now she knew she definitely wouldn't be able to sleep.

He opened his eyes one more time, her peaceful frame being the last thing he saw before he fell asleep.

Once she was sure he was fast asleep, she let her eyes open and could feel them start to fill up with tears. What was she doing? More importantly why did she care?

Eric woke up feeling the sun warming his back... He opened his eyes slowly and yawned as he looked down. Odette was curled into him, just like before she noticed he was there, except for the detail of the leg. He said before he would leave before she wakes, but she already knew he was there, so instead he rested his hand upon hers, and caressed her skin softly with his thumb.

Odette hadn't even realized she had fallen asleep until she woke up slowly and saw Eric next to her. Her first impulse was to flee but she restrained herself, "Hi." She said quietly and then looked down at her hand that he was holding with his. "Any reason why you're holding my hand?" She asked softly.

''None that could make any sense...'', he said softly and sat up in the bed. He couldn't deny but he was enjoying waking up with women by his side. Perhaps he could shove them in the morning next time he gets laid.

Odette nodded and then pulled away from him as he sat up, she didn't want to think about what it was she was doing and so instead chose to act like everything was all right. "Is this going to be a habit?" She asked quietly not sure if she could handle the answer yes.

''I don't know...'', he stretched his arms and yawned again. ''I think it's not every night I can't get a girl to lay down, or the Captain isn't around you...'', he scoffed lightly.

Odette looked down, "Well the Captain isn't with me anymore." She said quietly and looked away from him.

Eric looked back to her, frowning a bit. It wasn't his bussiness, so he didn't ask what happened, ''His loss...'', he mumbled quietly.

She gave a little laugh, "You're not the first guy to say that either but...its really difficult to believe." She muttered darkly as she dug her nails into her legs, another habit of hers.

He looked down to her legs, she shouldn't hurt herself like that, but who he was to say her that. ''What is difficult to believe? That the captain is idiot enough to let a girl like you go?'', he asked with an arched brow.

She sighed not looking at him as her nails dug in harder, "No...I was the one who broke it off, true he didn't trust me but in the end I couldn't handle it." She said flatly as blood started to seep under her nails.

''Stop it...'', he said firmly as he hold both of her wrists so she couldn't hurt herself...

She yanked her hands free, "Don't touch me!" She snapped as she glared at him and then looked down at her hands, funny she hadn't felt the pain...not until he had stopped her.

''Alright...'', he said quietly, lifting his hands up... ''Do you like new scars, or are you getting addicted on making them?''

She turned away from him, "I don't even know anymore." She muttered as she studied her hands with a blank look on her face.

Eric sighed and shook his head, already regretting what he was about to do, ''Let me clean this up...'', he said gently while he took one of her hands and moved closer to her, cleaning the blood with a cloth that was left by the nightstand.
