When You're The Best of Friends (Shared AU Fanfic with Charming)

Aurora entered the stables to visit Samson who whinnied when he saw her, Aurora'a grin grew and she fed Samson a carrot. "So Samson where's Charming?" She asked teasingly. Samson munched on the carrot and Aurora rubbed his ears affectionately.

Philip had been preparing Samson for a ride when he heard someone come into the stables, and by the sound of Samson's reaction, he had a feeling he knew who it was. He had been standing at Samson's front left leg, and as Aurora came over to the horse, Philip made his way to the back of Samson, hiding behind the horse with a mischievous smirk on his face. When she asked Samson about him, Philip knew that was his cue and he stood up from behind the horse. "I'm right here," he answered her casually as he walked the rest of the way around Samson to the front of the horses stall, patting the steed's neck as he got to the horse's head and looking up at him, and then smiling brightly at Aurora, the smile become more playful as he leaned on the stall gate, crossing his arms against his chest.

Aurora glanced over at him with an amused look in her eyes, "And how long were you standing behind poor Samson?" She asked lightly as she studied him from where she was standing.

"Oh not long," Philip answered nonchalantly with a small shrug before turning his blue eyes up to Aurora's, a sweet crooked smile on his lips. "So what brings you out here today?" he asked casually as he walked back to Samson's left back foot to clean it, looking over his shoulder at Aurora with an amused grin before looking down and then bending over to lift Samson's foot.

Aurora walked over to lean against the stable wall opposite him, "I was wondering if maybe you wouldn't mind going on a ride with me this afternoon?" She asked casually. Her gaze rested on him and she had to admit he did look good in that outfit.....she ducked her gaze before he would notice.

"Of course," Philip replied brightly as he stood back up, grinning over to Aurora as he walked around the back of Samson, patting the horse's rear as he did so. "I'd love to go for a ride with you," he clarified, his voice and face much softer, and warmer. "Did you want to go right now?" he asked as he scrunched down to clean Samson's next foot, briefly looking up at Aurora with a small crooked smile and bright eyes before turning his head back down to what he was doing. "Or later?" he added to his question as he stood and backed up to the last foot, bending over to clean it quickly.

Aurora looked down as a small smile grew on her face, "Well whenever you're free Charming." She said with a little smirk up at him before she brushed some hair back from her face.

Philip smiled over his should at Aurora as he finished picking Samson's final foot, letting the foot down gently and then standing up and turning towards the blonde outside the stall, brushing off the dirt on his hands on his pants. "For you, I'm always free," he crooned softly with a small smirk as he slowly approached to stall wall. He leaned over the gate, arms crossed, his face getting closer and closer to Aurora's until their noses were just about touching, at which point, Philip's smirk grew wider and he smudged some dirt with his finger on Aurora's nose, crinkling his own nose in jest. He then turned quickly and grabbed his saddle to start tacking Samson up, chuckling silently, and occasionally, smiling back at Aurora.

Aurora rubbed her nose cleaning the dirt off and stuck her tongue out childishly at him when his back was turned. She moved and stood just behind him, "Well then Slowpoke we better hurry otherwise we'll be out when night has fallen." She pointed out with a smirk.

"How do you know I wasn't planning on that?" Philip countered in a childish tone, scrunching his face up as he shook his head at her slightly, before bursting out laughing as he finished tacking up Samson, and then heading out of the stall to grab the supplies for Aurora's horse, tapping on her shoulder farthest from him and then whistling as he walked away, hands behind his back. He tacked up the second horse, Amber, the one Aurora typically rode, quickly and lead her over to Aurora, smiling happily. "If you will take her..." he started to say, bowing slightly and raising a playful eyebrow as he held out the reins for Aurora to take, and, once she had them, going over and grabbing Samson's reins and following the girls out of the stables.

Once they were both outside the stables, Philip dropped Samson's reins to the ground and held up a finger while quietly saying 'stand' and then walked over to Aurora. "Shall I help you up mi'lady?" he asked in a slightly over the top accent as he walked around her to stand by Amber's head, offering his hand, and knee, for Aurora to use as a boost up into her saddle, and bowing slightly and raising a playfully inquisitive eyebrow, his face appearing like he was going to burst into a fit of laughter any moment now.

Aurora had to fight hard to reign her laughter in and gave him a warm smile, "Why thank you your highness." She said in a overly dramatic tone of her own before gently accepting his boost into the saddle not that she needed it. Once she was on Amber she winked at Phillip playfully, "So your highness shall we have a race?" She asked, her lips twisting up into a wide smile.

Philip chuckled and looked down as Aurora stepped up onto her horse, shaking his head as he stood back up and started back towards Samson, rubbing his neck a bit and turning back slightly to look at Aurora, and then laughing a bit more and turning forward again. He hoisted himself up and walked him and Samson forward to be next to Aurora and Amber, a playful smirk on his lips as they approached the girls. "Oh, I think we shall," he said as he readied himself, leaning forward and tightening his grip on the rein, raising an eyebrow towards Aurora, asking if she was ready. "And no cheating," he said as he sat up a bit and pointed up, than at Aurora, narrowing his eyes playfully, and then winking at her and resetting himself, smiling contently over to Aurora.

Aurora smirked over at him, "Well since we're going to race, we should have a wager." She suggested with a growing smile on her lips. "What do you think Charming?" She asked with a wink in his direction.

"Hm..." Philip hummed as he tilted his head up and looked off towards the distance thoughtfully, squinting his eyes as he tapped his chin with his finger, holding the reins with his other hand. "How about....." he dragged out, still looking out thoughtfully. He then slowly started to turn his face toward Aurora again, a mischievous smirk on his lips and his head tilted to the side, picking up the reins again in both hands as he did so. "Whoever loses as to give the winner a kiss," he explained as his smirk grew wider across his face. "On the lips," he added, his voice becoming thicker, as he winked over at Aurora and lifted his hands to be ready to go.

Of course it really didn't matter who won. Him and Aurora always had fun together, and that's all Philip cared about. Although thinking about kissing Aurora....It sent butterflies fluttering in his stomach and a excited chill up his spine, and it made him start to grin shyly, so he looked down at Amber and gave her a pat on the neck. "You can do this girl," he whispered supportively, smiling gently down at the horse and then smirking up playfully at Aurora. "Is it a wager?" he asked as he stuck out his hand for her to shake, raising a cocky eyebrow.

Aurora could feel her heart pound at the wager but pretended to think about it, "Hmm sounds to me like there isn't a real loss in this bet...hmm very well I accept. On one condition the kiss has to be about a minute long." She said with a little wink down at him.

Philip could feel his stomach do a flip inside him as Aurora added to the wager, but he kept his composure, his smirk light and his eyes playful. "Hm..." he hummed again, pouting out his bottom lip to the side a bit as his eyes followed. "Agreed!" he exclaimed exuberantly, leaning over and grabbing Aurora's hand, smirking playfully and keeping his eyes on her face. He gave her hand a firm shake, putting on an over dramatically silly serious expression, and then burst into soft laughter before leaning over a bit to kiss Aurora's hand before letting it go, a gentle crooked smile on his lips as he looked up at her through his eye lashes. "You ready?" he asked in a husky voice with a mischievous smirk.

Aurora was sure she blushed but she hid it when Phillip looked back up at her, "Be prepared to lose." She said with a little laugh as she watched him move to mount Amber. She wouldn't admit it out loud but she was eager to finish the race.

Philip eyed Aurora suspiciously as she hid her face from him, but eventually let it go as she spoke to him. "Oh-ho-ho! You wish," he taunted lightly, smiling excitedly although his eyes showing the smallest amount of anxiety, not enough for Aurora to see from where she was luckily. But still he turned his face down towards Amber. If he lost....That meant he had to kiss Aurora...The thought made his heart rate accelerate dramatically and a lump start to form in his throat. And if he won, then she had to kiss him, a thought causing the same reactions. He discretely swallowed the lump that was in his throat and smiled up brightly to Aurora again. "Ready....Set...." he started to count down slowly, leaning forward with each word. "Go!" he shouted before looking ahead and pushing Amber into a walk, then a trot, and finally a gallop, running off towards the woods, and laughing as they went.

She urged Samson forward after them in hot pursuit and it wasn't long before she caught up to them. They wrre soon racing neck to neck and when Samson suddenly caught a burst of speed and leapt over a small obstacle, Aurora turned in the saddle and blew Phillip a kiss before she urged Samson forward again.

Philip looked over as Aurora caught up to him and Amber, sending her a brief wink before looking ahead again. He laughed as she blew him a kiss, and then urged Amber on, a fiery determination in his eyes. Slowly but surely he started to get closer to Aurora, just being a head behind Samson, ad then Amber being legitimately right on his tail, and then Amber's head being in line with Aurora. "I'm right behind you..." he crooned with a devilishly playful smirk.

Aurora laughed and glanced over her shoulder at him, "Yes you are." She said with a little wink back at him before they kept racing forward. It wasn't long until they reached the rigerbank but Phillip arrived moments before she did. Once she caught her breath, Aurora slid off Samson. "So I guess I need to give you a reward." She said with a smirk up at him.

Philip made a playful face at Aurora and then turned his attention back ahead of him. Right as they were approaching the riverbank, where they usually stopped their races, Amber started to pull ahead, and Philip shot a playfully smug smirk back at Aurora, although he did raise a curious eyebrow as he looked back at the blonde. It looked like Aurora was pulling Samson back, ie. slowing him down.

Philip chuckled softly as he looked down at his own hands while he pulled Amber gently to a stop. He laughed a bit louder as Aurora spoke, and he lightly slid off the saddle. "You sure I won fair and square?" he asked skeptically, smirking amused and raising an eyebrow as he looked over at his friend as he walked over to stand in front of Aurora, crossing his arms over his chest. "Cause it looked to me like a certain someone cheated..." he prodded, tilting his chin down more as he eyed Aurora from below. "Cheated to let someone else win....Only you Aurora," he muttered softly, running a hand through the back of his hair, and then chucking softly as he lightly shook his head towards the ground, then smiling up amused at Aurora.

Aurora raised an eyebrow, "Well I wouldn't let you win." She said with a smirk and leaned over to rub Samson's ears while she smiled mischieviously at him.

"Uh huh, sure," Philip said with a hint of a chuckle, rolling his eyes and then looking down at the ground. He smirked up at Aurora, and then turned back to remove Amber's tack, so that she could graze comfortably, giving the horse a pat as he finished and then setting the tack beside him near a tree as he leaned back against it with his hands linked behind his head. He stretched out his legs, crossing them at the ankles, and closed his eyes as he smile contently, and then opened one to peak playfully over at Aurora.

"So if I won," he spoke up, in a teasing tone, pointing back to his accusation, from his spot against the tree. "That means I get a kiss," he continued as he brought his arms down and crossed them over his chest, smirking smugly, his chin tilted up a bit. Although, on the inside, he was pretty nervous at the idea. This was his friend. His FRIEND Aurora. And she was going to kiss him? His heart rate started to increase a bit and his stomach tightened into lots of knots, and his throat became very dry, as he thought about it, but he kept his outer appearance smug and playful and relaxed. He couldn't let Aurora see him sweat.

Aurora smirked at his words and approached him as she smiled up at him through her lashes, "You're right I do." She said and trailed her fingers along his chest and then up until she wrapped one hand around his neck and slid up against him. She tilted her head until their lips were almost touching before she spoke, "I hope you like your reward." She murmered before she kissed him on the lips.
