Odette headed into the woods after being at the harbor, she was still thinking about what had happened over the past few days. She sighed and looked up at the trees around her as she walked, she hadn't thought to bring Angus or Honey with her but she needed the walk anyway to clear her head.

Gaston wandered the woods a he did often out of boredom, and stumbled upon Blondie. He smiled and snuck up behind her, tapping her on the shoulder.

"Hello there," he said politely, doing a mock bow.

Odette had jumped when someone had tapped her on her shoulder and whirled around, "Oh Gaston, what a pleasant surprise." She said with a smile and gave him a mock curtsey.

Gaston smiled and backed up, "So, what have you been up to?" he asked cheerfully.

Odette looked down, "Uh well Phoebus and I are no longer engaged for various reasons and well I'm with John Rolfe at the moment." She said quietly, she didn't want to tell him that she had been stabbed, raped and threatenedx after all that wasn't something she felt comfortable with just yet. "What about you?" She asked.

Gaston raised his eyebrows and made a tsk noise, "You do get around," he mumbled under his breath. He shoved his hands in his pockets and leaned on a tree.

"SO, John, isnt he engaged?"' gaston inquired.

She shook her head, "No he and Marina broke off their engagement before I even started dating John." She said and shrugged. She was starting to feel slightly uneasy again....remembering their last conversation and how he had insinuated that she was a whore.

Gaston smiled gently, "I wasn't implying you were ever together before they broke up, I was just asking, I'm new around here remember?" Gaston reminded her teasingly. He pursed his lips, "So Phoebus, whatever happened to him?"

Odette sighed, "He was really jealous and he didn't trust me around other men." She said softly and bit her lip, it still hurt just thinking about it.

Gaston sighed and whistled, "Well thats a sure way to drive a girl away, tie em' down and they get fiesty," Gaston said sarcastically, pulling on his coat and eyeing the blonde speculatively. His eyes ran down her body again as she looked away and he glanced up at the treetops absentmindedly.

She turned feeling his eyes on her but when she looked he was studying the trees. "Yeah well it didn't help." She muttered. "So I didn't see you at the ball, where were you?" She asked.

Gaston shrugged, "the tavern, i didn't want to endure the ball," Gaston said lazily, knowing his real reason. He didn't want to see some halfwit dance with the girl he loved, so he drank up and went home with some tavern-wenches.

Odette nodded, "Well be happy you missed it, some guy started attacking people and killing them.....there was a massacre." She said as she remembered that awful night....she still felt terrible that Jim had been used like that.

Gaston raised his eyebrows, "Well its too bad I missed that," Gaston muttered, slicking back his hair and smiling at her jokingly.

She gave a strained laugh, "Yeah it is." She muttered and then bit her lip, "You know Gaston...I should start going..uh it was nice though talking to you." She said and turned to go.
(leaving it open *cough *cough* XDD)

Gaston sighed, "And where are you going?" Gaston asked playfully, kicking at the ground and smirking. He could sense the discomfort.

Odette bit her lip and then turned to face him with a small smile on her face, "Just back home...was there something you wanted to talk to me about?" She asked softly.

Gaston smiled, "Not really, its too bad your hurt though, I wanted to find someone to show this thing I found to..." Gaston said nonchalantly, looking at her her speculatively.

Odette tilted her head curiously, "What was it?" She asked as she studied him with a questioning look in her eye.

Gaston smiled again, "Its not really an it, its more of a fun thing to do..." he explained without giving away what it was.

Odette shook her head, "I'm afraid I can't today Gaston, I'm really busy, maybe some other time?" She asked with an apologetic smile.

"Sure, maybe next week sometime?" Gaston asked conversationally, as if he was talking about the weather.

Odette nodded, "Yeah, I will definitely plan on it then." She said and left, she wondered what it was Gaston had planned.
