Fun at the River? (tags: Gaston)

As she walked next to Gaston, Odette glanced over at him "So what is this fun thing anyway?" She asked curiously as she nudged him gently with her shoulder.

Gaston laughed when she nudged him gently, "Its not that big a deal but it'll kill some time..." Gaston said truthfully, "and it'll knock a laugh or two out of you."

Odette started to smile even wider, "Now you really are making me curious." She said with a little laugh.

Gaston smirked, walking beside her quietly for a while.

Odette bit her lip and then smiled when they come up to the river, "So...where too next?" She asked curiously.

Gaston glanced down at the bank, trying to remember which way. "This way," he said after a moments consideration, facing the direction they were gonna go in.

Odette blinked and then faced the direction he had indicated, "All right....then lets go this way." She said and started off.

Gaston walked silently, kicking at the rocks.

Odette glanced over at him but didn't say anything, her curiousity grew however when they entered the forest. She didn't know what to expect.

Gaston chuckled randomly during the silence then glanced at her speculatively, "So any updates on your life right now?" he asked lightly.

Odette shrugged, "John broke up with me...he was just using me and that's it. What about you? Anything new?" She asked.

Gaston just stared for a moment, "Well that sucks...." he trailed off thoughtfully. His eyes once again staring at her thin figure.

Odette felt his eyes on her and turned to look at him,'"What?" She asked curiously.

Gaston lookedup at her face, "Nothing..." he said slyly. He tucked his hands in his pockets and started whistling absentmindedly.

She nodded, "Um ok then...so what have you been up too?" She asked.

Gaston shrugged, "Wandering, drinking, socializing, waiting for this wedding to be over with already..."

Odette frowned and then put one hand on his shoulder, "So want to tell me what this whole surprise is?" She asked, she had a feeling he was more upset by the wedding then other people.

Gaston shook his head, smiling smugly.

She sighed and stopped folding her arms and facing him, "I'm not moving until you tell me what it is." She said simply.

Gaston stared at her for a minute, analyzing her emotions.

"Fine," he said, before moving forward and scooping her up into his arms. Her top half of her body hung over his shoulder and he tightened his grip on her carefully.

"You dont have to move," Gaston said, walking on.

Her eyes widened, "Hey! Put me down!" She cried and twisted to look at him as best she could from the new angle. "Why can't you just tell me?" She asked, growing even more confused.

"Nahh, this is easier than dragging you..." Gaston said playfully, walking at ease, smiling.
