"why the sudden interest? You seemed content before wihtout asking anything," he stated. "Oh, are you worried about what you heard the people talk about me?"

She shrugged, "Only slightly.....however I wasn't lyinf, I would like to know you better." She said quietly.

He snorted. "What do you want to hear Jane?" he asked and slummpedback down on the couch beside her. "Ask, and maybe i'll give you an reply."

She rubbed her forehead once more and looked down, "Did...did you ever....remember me before I ran into you?" She asked softly.

He was quiet for a moment, first thinking about just flatly telling her 'no', to tired to keep up his usual act.
He sighend. "Yes I did," he admitted. No need to lie right now.

(Aaah *flails* he remembered me!! *-*)
Jane bit her bottom lip and looked down at her hands, "And...um....did you ever want to see me?" She asked quietly and nervously.
(*hiding*)

((of course he did, he could only picture her as a little girl though while growing up<3 ^^))

Again, he went quiet a moment before answearing. "The first years I couldn't think of anything else besides seeing you again," he said truthfully. Him telling the actual truth felt so out of place for him. "But then, I simply stopped caring."

Tears filled her eyes and she kept her gaze lowered as she felt another pain in her heart...what types of shit had Dimitri gone through?? "Thank you for being honest Dimitri...I..I missed you too, I actually would draw you every single time I started to forget what you looked like. You...were my inspiration for being an artist...and I want to thank you for that." She said softly.

Hearing the hurt in her voice and seeing the tears in her eyes amde him feel something he hadn't since the day he was sold off.
Guilt.
He never felt guilt. Not for anything or anyone. Yet, seeing ehr like this, broken, trying to hold her tears back made him want to pull her into a hug, and apologize.
His fist clenched. He didn't like this one bit.
"I see," he mumbled quietly and averted his eyes from her.

Jane wiped at her eyes and cleared her throat, "Sorry...I...I just felt like you needed to hear that. I still have those drawings....they aren't my best by any means though." She said with a dry laugh.

((now if only he could admitt this to himself 8'3))

"...I'd love to see them," he mumbled quietly. "I always liek to see how someone improves on their skills. I'm glad... for being your inspiration."

(*faints*)
Jane smiled up at him, "I'd love to show you...in fact...I think I brought them." She muttered and opened her knapsack she pulled out a small notepad which she looked down at before she shyly handed it to Dimitri. "This was my first sketchbook." She said quietly and looked down, nearly all of them were of Dimitri.

He took the sketchbook and carefully started to browes through it. She wasn't lying, almost all of them were of him. And even they were old, thye were still pretty good. He could tell that boy on the papers was him.
Just how many hours did she spend trying not forget his face?

She looked down and withdrew another sketchpad, while this one held a few more other things, it still had mostly drawings of a younger Dimitri. "Any time I could...I drew you...it might sound strange but when I drew you..I..could almost pretend I wasn't alone anymore." She said quietly.

He looked through the other she handed him, without noticing himself smiling a little. She had always been very artistic. She always amde her picture feel so... alive.
"I looked for you once," he blurted out, eyes still stuck on her sketches. "But I never found you. Turns out those two used their money for a new place."

Jane's eyes widened when she heard that, "You...you did?! How did you escape?! And yeah dad...he didn't want us anywhere near there so he took us as far away as he could." She said sadly. She had hated it....she hadn't even been allowed out to see her new home.

He scoffed and closed the sketchboock. "Turns out they were afraid of him comming back and ask for you," he mumbled. "I just sneaked out when he wasn't looking. I found our old house, burned to the ground. Yet I sat there, waiting, hoping for youto return anyway. Instead he found me," he spoke witha blank expression. How he got 'punished' after that was obvious...

She frowned, "Dimitri....I...I wish I could have been there." She said quietly and then slowly put an arm around his shoulders.

"Don't feel sorry, it's all in the past," he mutterd, thinking about pushing off her arm but didn't.
He was beign to open with her, even if she was his sister being this way would only mkae things more complicated for him.

She frowned, "Even so I..I should have fought back...I shouldn't have been a coward." She said quietly.

"You were a child Jane," he said sternly. "Eve if you fought back, there was nothing you could've done."

"So were you! You were always the brave one.....you still are." She said softly and bit her lip.

He shaked his head. If there was something he wasn't, it was brave. No, he had only acted out of selfisnes almost his whole life.
"You cna't think the bets of eveyrone all the time, even me Jane. You'll only end up disapointed and hurt in the ned."

She frowned, "Why do you say that?" She asked sadly as she looked at him. She loved Dimitri....he was the reason she had kept going all those years.

"Beacuse I know that better than anyone," he mutterd and stood up. "This town is far from being safe. You can't really trust what anyone says here."
Him being one of the worst here.
