Cry of The Mockingbird (tags: Queen Leah)

(might be my only post tonight cause I'm so tired, don't worry though I shall reply first thing in the morning)
Odette was making her way out of town, dressed in her skin tight black leather outfit that she only wore when she was on an assignment. Her hair had been pulled back in one long braid to keep it from her face, she was grateful she had managed to finish off that tradesman with no trouble. Now the only problem she might have was escaping...

Queen Leah found a way to sneak out that day, she had fulfill her duties and now there was another one she had to do. She wasn't wearing her fancy and elegant dresses, she was actually wearing a cloth that would made her look like another average town civilian, although she was wearing a hood to cover herself specially her face so she wouldn't be recognize.
She walked and found herself in the gates that were now open, she stood there watching the structure that always amazed the queen. Everything was calm until some strange men appeared out of nowhere and began to bother head, Queen Leah was quite busy trying to hid her face but the men didn't seem to bother.
"Leave me alone sir, please" she asked a bit mortify when a man took her arm wildly.
"You will not tell me what to do stupid peasant!" he shouted
"How dare you? How dare you to treat someone like that?!" she scolded as she began to pull her arm to set free but seemed hopeless, and the other men were approaching making her feel fear and anger at the same time.

Odette heard raised voices bear the gates and frowned, one of them was a woman. Odette made her way towards the gates and frowned when she saw the scene in front of her, she withdrew one knife and after taking careful aim threw it at the man's shoulder. She made sure it wouldn't actually kill him on impact, the man buckled in surprise and cursed. "Now now that's no way to talk in front of a lady." Said Odette chidingly as she stepped forward. All of the other men let out whistles when they saw her outfit, Odette sighed. "If all of you want to lose an important part of your anatomy I suggest you leave." She said in a deathly calm voice. One of the other men stepped forward, " I think you're bluffing." He said smugly as he looked her up and down. Odette glanced at him, "Well there's only one way to find out huh?" She asked coyly. The men all exchanged looks before one by one they left, "I'm sorry about that, are you all right?" Odette asked as she turned to look at the woman.

Queen Leah widened her eyes when she noticed the man being hurt, but grateful for being released, the blonde woman that appeared to her rescue made her being more surprised and forced her to hide with her hood as much as she could when she saw her turning to face her after the men left.
"I uh...yes, I am, thanks to you, i'm entirely grateful" she said with a smile and a small nod, "Although, I don't find violence as the right choice to solve things but in some rare cases" she admitted as she looked at her savior, "How can I ever repay you for not only your bravery but for saving my life?" she asked slightly frowning because she was realizing she was talking so formal.

OOC: If any woman in the kingdom has problems with maniacs, Odette is here to save you.... Girl, I suggest you to distribute business cards!

Odette studied the woman and frowned before she realized who she was, "Your majesty what are you doing out and about in Nirethia without an escort?" She asked quietly.

Queen Leah widened her eyes in surprise and approached towards Odette as she placed a finger in her mouth asking her to be more quiet, "Shhh, please I beg you not to call me like that today, please" she said in a whisper,"Please?" she begged again giving her savior a mortify look, yet with a little hope.

Odette wondered at the secrecy but nodded, "All right then...uh Miss." She said uncertaintly. She looked at her though with a piercing gaze, "So any idea why they decided to pick on you?" She asked as she cast a glance around the area.

The Queen nodded, "Thank you" she whispered and then thought for a moment, "Miss...Leanne?" she suggested and then tilted her head, "I guess it was for this" she said cautiously as she moved her hood enough to show a small bag hanging at the side of her waist, "I've noticed that people in town are thirst of money" she explained still cautious as she hid it with her hood again and sorrow crossed her face, "I would've give him some if he wouldn't be that rude" she explained as she looked at Odette, "Would you like to take a walk?" she suggested truly wanting to know more about this young lady.

Odette shrugged, it wasn't like anyone was after her now anyway. "If you truly wouldn't mind the company Miss Leanne then I would be honoured to walk with you." She said sincerely as she smiled at the disguised Queen.

The Queen nodded as a thank you, and began to walk with Odette at her side towards town, "Some people in Nirethia think that the royals don't care about them...but it's hard for them to realize that all the choices my husband make is for them...for all of them, and sometimes it's hard to make a few. I disguised in order to see my people, and to know better how can I help them" she explained in a low voice towards Odette.

Odette was stunned, "You do realize that by doing so, you are putting yourself at risk? Many of the citizens here in Nirethia do not like the nobles, especially well the king and queen." She said apologetically. She glanced over at the Queen and smiled sadly, "However the fact that you are here means you care for your people....and that counts for everything." She said softly.

The Queen smiled saddened and nodded, "I know" she answered, "So far my disguise has work, it only takes to smart women like you to recognize me" she added hiding a bit her face more with her hood and then sighed. She turned to see Odette a bit and smiled her warmly, "I'm glad you see it that way, but is more than just caring for them, I really this people...all of them, including those men you saved me from, call me crazy if you wish for" she added as she spotted a man sitting in the ground, resting his back in a wall of the gates, he looked tired and hopeless.

"Excuse me" she said suddenly and run a bit towards the man hiding her face even more, she knee in front of him and took his hands, and hand him half of the gold coins she had in her bag that showed to the blonde heroine. After kissing his forehead she run towards Odette so the man didn't had a chance to see the Queen's face, "Let's walk that way" she said heading a bit away of the man who now seemed as if he had receive heaven's luck or something.

Odette glanced back at the man who the Queen had aided, "Do you do this often?" She asked with interest as she hurried to join the queen. This had to be one of the more interesting nights she had had in awhile.

"As often as I can" she admitted to the girl with a small grin, "People need hope...if this is able to give them even a little bit, I would love to do these every night, but the duty in the castle calls as well" she explained and looked at the young lady, "And what about you? You do that often? Throwing knives to save people?" she asked with a sort of sneaky tone in it.

Odette laughed, "Well only if I've had to deal with them too often and they just don't get a clue. He went after another woman a few nights ago but he ran off." She explained with a sigh and then glanced down again.

The Queen frowned and pursued her lips not liking the idea of people being bother or abused, "You certainly are brave" she said realizing she haven't still know the name of the young lady. The Queen's expression vanished when she tilted her head, she placed her hand on Odette's chin and made her see her eyes, "What is it dear?"

Odette met the Queen's gaze with her own, "There's a man I love.....but we live two completely different lives and I...don't know how it'll work out. He deserves someone better then me, someone who doesn't kill people for a living." She said bitterly.

The Queen smiled gently as Odette began to talk, the smile began to change into a compassionate look as she continued, "Oh dear, I see" she said as she passed her hand through Odette's hair, "Every man would be lucky to have someone as brave and strong like you, not to mention beautiful" she began to say, "You dared to save a stranger, that says a lot of someone's heart, so even if killing it's not exactly the best way to live for...you still have a noble heart, and as long as there is love, nothing can get wrong, this is not a naive thought, this is something real, as real as your feelings, if he loves you back, then I don't see any reason why you two shouldn't be together" she added with a warm smile, "Besides, you'll never know, if you don't try it...so do not waste this beautiful opportunity"

Odette smiled, "Wow....when you say it like that...it just makes everything seem so much better." She said with a little smile on her face as she pictured it. "My name is Odette...Odette Paranell." She said softly as she smiled at her, this would be the first time she had told someone her full name.

The Queen smiled at her and nodded, "People are too busy with their problems that is hard to sometimes see the best of life, and sometimes they need another point of view to encourage themselves to happiness" she said gently, eventually she made a small bow, "Such a beautiful name for a brave young lady, pleasure to meet you Odette" she said gently, "I would introduced myself but you already know that" she giggled.

Odette bowed back and smiled, "I assume you want this meeting to remain a secret?" She asked eventually, knowing already that she wouldn't say a word to anyone.

"You are really smart Odette" The Queen answered and gave Odette a look of begging, "Please, I don't feel it right ... people really wouldn't believe it and would think this is nothing but just pure act which is not!"

Odette inwardly agreed, "Don't worry Miss Leanne I promise I will not reveal your secret." She said sincerely as she met her eyes.

The Queen smiled as Odette looked at her eyes, she wasn't lying, she could tell, "Thank you, for everything...now as we continue with our walk, may I ask you, if it's alright of course, how have you been living...like that?" she asked as she continued walking at the side of Odette and talked in a low tone, "You said you kill for a living...with that dais it's not really hard to understand you're an assassin for hire"
