I Close My Eyes (tags: Mikey)

Odette rocked both of the twins to sleep after she had fed them and lay down on her bed. She kept her eye on the cribs that were next to her bed and she bit her bottom lip, she was relieved to have her twins back. Both Alice and Alex had awoken a part of her that she hadn't realized she had had until they had lain in her arms for the first time. She loved being a mom and even though there were moments where it was difficult she had the best friends who were always willing to help her.

"It's a good to see you're not in dnager or trying to kill yoruslef for once," the dark and bored voice almsot eachoed int eh small room as the man enterd, studying the three on the bed.

Odette looked up with a small smile on her face as she heard Michael's voice. "I can't be selfish anymore Michael....and definitely not now when I have responsibilities." She said quietly as she let her gaze drift back to their kids. "I haven't seen you for awhile, are you ok?" She asked quietly.

A small smile showe don his face, althoguh it vanished to quikcly for anyone to see.
"'Course i am," he mutterd and took out soemthign from his pocket. "For Alice," he said flatly as he handed it to her.

Odette looked up when she saw the syringe and slowly took it from him, "Does it matter where I inject her?" She asked quietly, she didn't say it out loud but she was afraid to hurt Alice with a needle of any kind.

"Not really," he mumbled, eyeing the sleeping twins on the bed. "Just inject ti in her arm."

She nodded and after sitting up in bed and gently holding Alice in her arms, Odette took care of the injection. She was worried that Alice didn't even seem to notice her surroundings and cradled her against her chest before kissing her fondly on the forehead and doing the same to Alex. "Thank you." She said softly, it was thanks to Michael she still had their kids with her, something she would always be grateful for.

He scoffed, the same words "don't thank me", at the tip of his tounge, but held it abck this time. She knows already anyway.
"She'll be fine" he said instead and leaned agaisnt the door frame.

She glanced up at him with a worried look in her eyes, "I..I know." She said softly and as steadily as she could manage. She glanced back down at Alice and gently caressed her cheek with her finger before she looked back up at him. "Do you believe in second chances?" She asked quietly, not really sure why she was asking.

He looked back at her, face as unreadable as ever, even if the uestion took him slighty by surprise. "You're asking soemoen like me?" he sounded a little amsued, but annoyed as well. "...I never really belived in much, but once, yes... I did belvie that those who desevred it, recived it."

She nodded, accepting the answer as she slowly sat up making sure not to disturb the twins. "I know its am odd question but I've had it on my mind lately." She admitted sheepishly as she gave him a little smile.

His eyes followed her closely. "So, you're wondering if you deserve a second chance," he said, not maing it sound lile a question really. "You don't a second chance, you still have your first."

She sighed, "Do I? I..I've killed people, I've made more mistakes then I can count and I..I just want to get it right for once." She said quietly as she looked back at the kids on the bed. She pulled her feet up and wrapped her arms around them as she took in the sight of their kids.

"...just start over," he said softly, sitting down beside her silently. "Stop regretting all you've done, and forgve yourself. Then, you'll ahev your second chance. Just move on Odette.."

A slow smile spread across her lips at his words and she turned to look up at him. She hadn't realized she was crying and she looked down hastily when she felt those tears, "I...I think I can try working on that." She said quietly and then slowly slid her hand into his own.

Even thoguh he wasn't looking at her, he didn't need to too know she was crying. He tensed slightly as he felt ehr hand slip into his own, and surprising himself, squeezed it softly.
"...don't hold it in," he murmured, keeping hsi eyes on the twins. "Just let it out."

Odette cried but softly so as not to wake the kids, her free hand she used to wipe at her eyes. "I never cry you know, so you're gonna have to keep this between us." She said as lightly as she could manage.

He smirked teasngly at her. "You, never cry? Yeah right, tell me soemthing I can belive," he chuckled.

Her smile widened, "Let me think of something first." She said, secretly glad that she had made him laugh. "Uhh I make amazing food." She said as she thought about it.

"Try again," he smirked, leaning his head back a little. That amde him think of Jim though, for some reason...

She shook her head, "One day Korso, mark my words you will try my food and you will like it." She said mock threateningly before she bit her bottom lip, "Uhh I'm good at knife throwing." She said as she thought out loud.

He turned his ehad to stare at her. "Yeah you are, so put some good sue to it for once," he continued teasing. "And i rather not get food poisnoed. Have had that enoguh while living off on garbage cans as kids."

She rolled her eyes at him, "I'll let you know no one's ever died from food poisoning by me. And I will, I was planning on working on it anyway." She said as she thought about it.

"Why not tkae lessons fromt he brat-" he stopped himself as he realised what he had been saying, and turned away hsi ehad again, mounth shut.

She turned to look at him and then squeezed his hand gently, "I'm sure he'd be happy to teach me." She said softly. "Just you wait though my cooking is going to blow you away." She said, trying to help him.
