After a Ride (tags: Jim/Esme)

Odette rode Angus through the town square, she was on her way back out. For some reason though her thoughts were on that night with Michael...she still hadn't told Jim. Inwardly though she was wondering if she should tell him. He wouldn't be happy if he heard but he needed to know the whole truth...and Odette would be damned if she didn't give him that. After all he had tried to save her life when they were younger.

Jim smiled at the girl handing him the fruit he just bought, making her blush, just like all the rest he had happend to pass today. And to think he wans't trying now. "Thanks," he said and picke dup his other bags and turned aorund, heading back to he tavern. He never thoguth he'd admit it, but keeping calm and avioding fights sure felt... relaxing. He wasnt even that angry anymore. Ha, maybe there was still hope for him then, to be a better person.

(Ohh craapp and then Odie has to ruin his happiness with life -_-)
Odette froze as she recognized Jim buying some fruit and wondered if she should call out to him and then shrugged it wouldn't hurt. "Hey Jim." She called as she neared him on Angus.

He turned his hea and smiled at the woman. 2Why hello there, heavne't seen you in a while. WHat, missed my 'stalking'?" he joked.

Odette smiled back as well, "Well maybe I have, you seem to be in good spirits. How have you been?" She asked, realizing that she couldn't tell Jim what had happened....it would destroy him.

He shrugged. "Surprsingly, I've been betetr actually. I've managed to aviod most of the fights and creeps always craving money off me, controling my temper and helped out more in the tavern."
He ywaned tiredly. "Still having sleeping problems though" he chuckled. "So how are things going with cpatain 'Doofus'?"

She sighed and looked down at her wrist which was hidden by her cloak, "Not much....he just doesn't approve of me." She said quietly.

He chuckled. "Can't sya I'm surprsied there. And hate to say I told ya so buuuuut," he grinns teasingly. "I told ya so. Don't worry, he'll come around sooner or later. He is a man after all, and men got certain needs."

Odette rolled her eyes, "Oh believe me I know." She said quietly and smiled back at him, "So whats got you so happy anyway?" She asked

"Hm? Don't know really..." he smiled to himself. "JUst gratefull there's people who still belives in you I guess," he said, thinking back on the talk he had with Ariel.

Odette smiled and then looked down the urge to tell him was becoming stronger. "Uh Jim I have to talk to you." She said quietly, she felt light-headed, she had to be out of her mind.

His smile dropped slightly. "Sure, what about? Everything ok?" he asked worried.

Odette hated this, "Its about your dad Jim...there's something I never told you about him." She said quietly.

His smile vanished completley now. He rubbed his neck and looke around, slightly uncomfortable. "Can we take this somewhere more privat?"

She nodded, "Of course." She said and held out her hand so that he could get behind her on Angus.

He sighend, not really wanting to talk about hsi father but comming from her it must be important. Picking up his bag wiht one hand he took hers with the other and sat up behind her.
