One Night (AU Fanfic tags: Jim)

(I will say this now....yes it is official Odette is a slut in fanfics XDD anyway enjoy our smuttyness oh and as a heads up yes Odette can actually hold her liqour in this XD)
Odette entered the tavern and ordered herself a drink, she just needed some time to herself as Phoebus had been more protective then usual. She sighed and took a sip from her drink.

(woooooa.... *cough* smut? xD *panics*)

Working as usual, Jim sevred the customers more even when they could barley stand up on their own legs. He was bored as heck, but he couldn't just leave Sarah aloen to deal with this.
Seeig a familiar blonde take a seat, he smiled and made his over to serve her instead.
"Is Doofus being useless agin?"

Odette smiled up at Jim and sighed, "No...he's being really overprotective at the moment and I just need some space." She admitted with a little laugh. She stared up at him, "What about you? How have you been?" She asked quietly.

"Ha. Can't say I'm any better than him then," Jim chuckled as he served her a drink, knowing himself how overprotective he could get.
"The usual for me. Fight, work, sex, more fights," he grinned.

Odette shook her head, "Is there anything you don't do?" She asked teasingly as she took a sip of her drink.

"Stay out of trouble?" he suggested while serving a drunk couple who was heavily making out.

Odette shook her head, "Well besides that." She muttered and took another drink as she stared down at the ring on her finger. She wished she knew what it was she wanted....she loved Phoebus but was she ready for marriage?

"THne I don't have an answer for you," he shrugged, ignoring the couple who was now making out on the floor instead.
"Gettign cold feets?" he asked when he saw her looking down at ehr ring.

She bit her lip and looked up at Jim, "No...I don't know, I love Phoebus I do. I just wish that sometimes he wouldn't treat me like a fragile doll. I mean I know I'm a danger magnet but he can't keep me locked up forever." She said quietly. She hated being locked up....it brought back memories of a time she'd rather forget.

Jim's eyes narrowed slightly, not having to guess to what kind of memories that was bringing her.
"He means well. But as I said another time, we men are slow and need others to tell us straight on to understand stuff. So just tell Doofus and i'm srue he'll understand," he said gently.


((I just realised, when Phoebus is aroudn Jim treats him liek trash, but when he's not Jim alwasy defends him xD))

Odette smiled softly, "Yeah I think I'll do that." She said and took another sip of her drink. "You give good advice you know." She commented quietly.

"Of course I do, just beacuse I'm young doesn't mean I don't know how life works," he snickerd. "Afraid I know too much."

Odette smiled and shook her head, "Hardly....I think you know your fair share of the world." She commented.

He jsut smiled and served himsefl something to drink. Funny how easy he could get so relaxed with her aorund.
"So, you're just here beacuse of some needed space from Doofus am i right."

She nodded, "Yeah...knowing Phoebus though he'll show up all angry that I haven't told him where I've gone." She said with a little laugh. She shook her head, "I do feel slightly bad about worrying him....I just need time to myself some days." She said softly.

"DOn't worry, we men deserve to worry about you girls too since most of the time it's you who sist at home praying we'll come back alive," He said simply. "Just anjoy your last days of freedom," he half joked.

Odette bit her lip, "When you put it like that, you make it sound terrible." She said with a little giggle.

"Huh. You're right. Don't mind me then," he chuckled.

She laughed and took another drink, "Well I guess I'll find out soon enough." She said quietly. She didn't know why but she was slightly scared....scared of being committed like this.

"Hey," he placed his hand over hers. "You're not doing this just ebacse he asked yout oo right?" he asked serious. "'Cause if you're not sure about this, then you shouldn't go through with it."

Odette sighed, "I...I think he kinda jumped things with the marriage proposal...I..love him and yet I'm scared of the commitment." She said quietly. She glanced down at his hand over hers and sighed, "Sometimes things just...fly by you know?" She said quietly.

"I know," he sighend. "But you should tell him this, he should respect you're feelings for this and take it slower."

She nodded, "I have...and he's fine with waiting on the wedding but sometimes he'll bring up kids....and that I'm not prepared for." She said as she used her free hand to rub her forehead.

"Then just flat out tell him!" he said sternly. "Really, you gotta stop him before he comes up with more ideas you won't be prepared for. If you don't say anythign he'll think you want it too."

She winced, "I hate making him disappointed though...and I don't know how he'll react if he hears I don't want to have kids just yet." She said quietly.
